What is ISO/IEC 27001 Foundation?

ISO/IEC 27001 is the international standard for information security management systems (ISMS). It defines how an organisation scopes its security, assesses risk, selects controls, and proves continual improvement. This Foundation course gives you the standard's structure, its core concepts, and the vocabulary the entire information security profession runs on.

Why it matters in Nigeria

Banks, fintechs, telcos and their suppliers face security due diligence from regulators, international partners and enterprise customers. Understanding ISO/IEC 27001 at Foundation level means you can participate in — and speak the language of — an ISMS programme, whether you support it, audit it or manage teams around it.

Examination and certification

The programme concludes with the official PECB ISO/IEC 27001 Foundation certification exam. Passing earns a PECB Certified credential, issued and verifiable by PECB.
